Who We Are



The Institute is a charitable trust formed and operated exclusively for religious, charitable, scientific, literary, medical research and educational purposes. More specifically, the principal purpose of the Trust is to engage in the conduct of medical research, primarily in the fields of Malaria Prevention and Hygiene with a particular focus on Mosquito Nets, Malaria Research, or such other areas of medical research (such as, research in the Field of Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs)) as determined by the Board of Trustees.

Currently, the Institute is primarily engaged directly in the continuous active conduct of Medical Research in conjunction with Baylor College of Medicine, National School of Tropical Medicine and the Sabin Vaccine Institute and Texas Children’s Hospital Center for Vaccine Development on the development of vaccines for Chagas Disease, as well as to conduct epidemiological studies on the prevalence of the disease and its vectors.
